Chasing dreams

Happy anniversary of moving to La La Land to me! Been through some shit, have some stories, always stayed true to myself and never gave up though.

Before I moved here, there were some people (including some family that I love and care about) that just didn’t understand my dream or my decision. Some thought I should get a “real job” or maybe they just thought my dream seemed impossible. But impossible is just an opinion and the only limitations that exist are the ones we place on ourselves. And if you never try, you’ll never know.

Since then, some of these same people have told me that they are proud of me for moving all the way across the country on my own, chasing my dreams, sticking it out, and that they could never do what I did. It’s always nice to hear that and a nice reminder to pause, reflect, and maybe be proud of myself as well.

But when I hear them say they couldn’t have done it, I don’t know...All I did was follow my heart and I didn’t settle for something that I knew wouldn’t make me happy. We are all capable of following our heart and chasing our dreams. Has it been all smooth sailing and easy? Fuck no! 😳 There have been ups and downs, highs and lows, and times where all I could do was buckle up and hang on for the ride. So, no it has not always been easy but it HAS been worth it. Have I accomplished everything I want to accomplish yet? No. But I will. 😏 And I’ve grown so much in the process as well.

If I can do it, you can do it. So dream big and never settle. Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire 🔥 (or feel the fear but do it anyway). Just don’t let fear, ego, other people’s opinions or expectations (even those of loved ones), or the “status quo,” or anything else hold you back. Make sure in 10 years you can say you chose your life, you didn’t settle for it. You deserve to be happy and to have all your dreams come true. Believe in yourself and your dreams! You got this!
